I went to "El Centro", Bucaramanga's central market. It is 5 floors of coll things. So, I went to the 4th floor because I wanted to get some meat. On the way I saw this and had to take pictures. 1st couple pics are of the people that sells whats left of the pigs and cows once they take the meat off. Hooves, livers, eyes, heads, snots, and such. Then there is the Gallina lady. These are farm raised big female chickens, that are yellow in color because of what they each. Theses are valued for sancocho, a type of yummy chicken soup they make down here. Inside are the semi-formed eggs that were in the chicken when they killed it. She is eating sancocho.

BUD-WEIS-ER is here!

Ok, we just got in another import. A finely crafted import to compete with the Corona, Murphys, Heineken, and Guinness. Hahahahahahahah!! BUD-WEIS-ER As you can see the price of a 10 pk. is 19900.00 COP. about $11.00 USD  in enchange, around $1.10 a can. This price is equal to Club Colombia, the beer that was voted best in the world 2 years ago. The "Budweiser" of beers here is called "Aguila", and it does come in a light version. Its regular price is around 8000.00 COP a 10pk., a little less than 50. a can.

OH! by the way Mountain Dew is going like gangbusters down here. I am crossing my fingers that I will see Dr. Pepper soon!

New Playground slides

Check out these pictures for our new K-5 playground. Nice huh! But, look closely!

OK, so the school spend a crap load of money for these new playgrounds for the K-5 and  Elementary. First, they built the elementary playground (a Pirate Ship). I don't have pictures, but the slide ended 2 feet from the concrete security wall. So, they took it all the way apart and rebuilt it. You think they would have learned. But here are pictures of the K-5 (The Castle). Yes, the slides go right into the concrete blocked wall around the playground. No injuries are going happen here, right. You think they would have learned from the 1st fiasco.  Go figure!! They finely figured it and rebuilt it, see next time what they did.
